  Curious why Pilates is so hyped? Pilates uses a method called Contrology which is a series of low impact, muscular movements that test and push the limits of endurance. Yes, Pilates is very core centric but it surely does work on overall muscular strength too. One often seeks Pilates as a sure shot method to get rid of unwanted belly fat. Not only that but Pilates also improves balance, tones the core, improves flexibility and helps correct posture. It can be done with and without equipment. Starting with a few core exercises for beginners to build a strong foundation for their fitness journey is as follows: The Hundred - Lay down on the mat, lift both the legs with knees bent, knees 90 degrees to the mat and legs parallel to it. Raise your chest and head off the mat. Work your core. Work your arms 6 to 8 inches up and down off the mat, taking deep breaths, inhaling for 5 counts, exhaling for 5 counts.
